New York harbor with the Brooklyn bridge under construction

New York Harbour with the Brooklyn bridge under construction by the very popular artist Alfred Thompson Bricher depicts exactly what the name suggests. Let us first throw some light on the artist who bought the whole scene live on just a little piece of canvas. Alfred Bricher was popularly associated with Hudson River School and White Mountain art and usually painted scenes of nature in detail. His paintings were usually created at the shore side because he was a sea lover and loved sitting near the shore from where he drew inspiration for all his paintings.

Now coming to the painting, New York Harbor with the Brooklyn Bridge under construction 1877 is an exclusive piece of work by the artist. He has put the whole scene as it is on the canvas and given life to it by means of oil paints. The painting was originally made in the size 68. 52 X 58. 42 cms by Alfred Bricher. The painting clearly shows all different segments and covers a larger area on one small piece of canvas. The colors are dull and dusky and the painting gives a slight dusty and foggy effect exactly what we witness at the time when construction is in progress.

The painting was originally sketched by Alfred Bricher but soon became very popular and was then reproduced and created by many other artists. It is still very popular amongst the true painting lovers and creations of it are sold in the art galleries as well as many art sites online.
